Hot Wing Eating Contest
Entry Fee – $15.00 (Proceeds goes to Charleston Elementary School)
The Hot Wing eating competition is open to all amateur eaters 18 years or older who are in good health. Any competitor with a serious ailment or health problem may not compete in the contest.
Participants must have no known food allergies, including but not limited to shellfish.
Entries will be accepted through October 25, 2019 – 8:00 PM (10-15 contestants).
A non-refundable entry fee of $15 must be paid to participate in the contest.
All contestants must arrive 30 Minutes prior to event and sign in at registration table. If you do not arrive in time, you will forgo your entry fee.
Eating Contest Guidelines:
20 Hot Wings Will be given to each Contestant
1. Contest is to be judged by the weight of chicken consumed.
2. Contestants will have a judge overseeing their trays.
3. Each tray will be weighed before and after the contest.
4. 2 minutes will be allotted for the contest.
5. Competitors may eat ONLY in their designated areas. Any
contestant leaving their designated area during the contest
will be automatically disqualified.
6. The contestant to eat the most chicken wing meat by weight at
the end of 2 minutes wins.
7. Uneaten chicken wing will be placed back on contestant’s tray.
8. Judges will ensure all chicken is eaten before calling winner.
9. In the event of a tie – a final challenge will be initiated:
10. Trays will be weighed before the final challenge contest
begins.
11. 2 mins will be allotted for the tied contestants to eat.
12. At the end of the 2 minutes, trays will be reweighed and the
winner announced.
13. Prize: 1st place – Bragging Rights, Trophy & Event T-Shirt
14. If contingencies or disputes arise, not explicitly covered by
the stated official rules, before, during or after the contest; the Executive Judge will make a ruling. The
decision of the Executive Judge will stand with the same authority as the official rules.
15. Competitors may not touch the chicken wing tray or chicken
wings in the tray before the contest begins.
16. The use of utensils is not allowed.
17. You can not strip meat from chicken bones and then eat
meat.
18. No inappropriate language or gestures will be tolerated, any
competitor in violation of this rule will be disqualified.
19. Competitors may not make physical contact with any other
competitor at any time.
20. Any competitor who deliberately makes contact with another
competitor will be disqualified.
21. If a competitor vomits or regurgitates at any time during the
competition or during tray weighing, he or she will
be disqualified.
22. In the event of a tie between competitors, there will be a 60
second “run off” to determine the winner using 10 additional
wings for each tie winner.
23. All contestants’ names and pictures may be used by the King
of the Wing Fest, Target Marketing Media, for promotional
purposes.
Terms and conditions:
I know that eating large amounts of chicken wing is potentially hazardous and is an uncomfortable activity. I should not enter and eat unless I am medically capable and properly trained. I realize that this is in good fun and possibly bad taste, but I agree to be a good sport. I agree to abide by any decision of the contest officials and all of the contest rules. I assume all risks associated with eating in this type of event including but not limited to indigestion, that stuffed feeling, a general dislike for Chicken wing after I am done, and all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of you accepting my entry, I, waive and release King of the Wing Fest, Target Marketing Media, City of Charleston, TN their representatives, sponsors, and their successors from all claims of liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event.
